Even specially formulated multi-vitamin/multi-mineral supplements for adults over the age of fifty do not provide the daily value of calcium required by women. So, one is often advised to take calcium supplements. Unfortunately, the tablets are sized in such a way that only a horse could comfortably swallow them.
So, Viactiv provides an easy, pleasant, and tasty alternative of getting one's necessary daily value of calcium. This calcium supplement, replete with Vitamins D and K for easier absorption of the calcium, is in the form of a soft chew, shaped something like a caramel. It is a vast improvement over those horse sized calcium supplement pills only a horse could love. Three of these tasty little chews provide 1,500 mg of calcium, 300 IU of vitamin D, and 120 mcg of vitamin K.
While it currently is available in six flavors, caramel, orange cream, strawberry cream, milk chocolate, chocolate mint, and mochaccino. I have tried only four of the six. The caramel flavor, which is, incidentally, my own personal favorite, tastes for all the world like a real, honest-to-goodness caramel. Eating it is a mouthwatering, flavorful experience, one that all caramel lovers should enjoy.
The orange cream flavor tastes just like a creamsicle, making it a tasty morsel to which one looks forward to having the requisite three times a day. Orange cream is one of my personal favorites, second only to caramel.
The fact that this calcium supplement is available in a milk chocolate flavor should make all chocoholics happy. Its rich chocolate taste, reminiscent of a Tootsie Roll in terms of flavor and texture, makes for a delectable, pleasant experience. That it is actually good for you makes it even better
The combined chocolate and coffee flavors of mochaccino should serve to make all chocoholics and coffee lovers happy. Its rich mocha flavor, however, while good, was not my favorite, as I find that I prefer the other flavors that I have tried, thus far.
Each tasty chew contains twenty calories. For those of you who are following the Weight Watchers point system, three of these handy dandy little chews, irrespective of flavor, will count as one point. For those of you following the Atkins diet, three of these chews will add twelve carbohydrates to your daily plan. Each chew comes individually wrapped for women on the go.
