I feel that I have been "ripped off" by Life Extension.
The front of this bottle is labeled in bold type, "Life Extension Super R-Lipoic Acid 300 mg". Turning to the backside of the bottle the description states, not just in fine print but within parenthesis, "300mg Bio-enhanced Stabilized Na-RALA sodium R-Lipolate (providing 210 mg of R-Lipoic acid)". So each capsule provides only 210 mg not the stated 300mg of R-Lipoic Acid.
Each capsule actually only provides 70% (= 210mg / 300mg) of the stated quantity of R-Lipoic Acid. This antioxidant is by far the most expensive supplement that I take. At the Life Extension's list price of $49, their deception costs me $14.7 (= $49 x ( 1 - ( 210 / 300 )) per bottle. Granted the current seller discounts the list price and at the discounted price the loss is $8.70.
I feel that Life Extension's labeling this product is deceptive. Contrast Life Extension's labeling approach to that taken by Doctors Best. The Doctors Best product, Stabilized R-Lipoic Acid, states 100mg on the front of the bottle. On the back in the fine print, "100mg R-Lipoic acid (from 143mg Bio-enhanced Stabilized Na-RALA sodium R-Lipolate). Doctors Best has actually increased the amount of raw ingredient to provide the stated amount of 100mg product.
I will not purchase Life extension products. If this is what is happening with something that can be traced, I expect that there is even more deception relatively to items that cannot be monitored by the consumer.
Shame of you, Life Extension, for your use of deliberately misleading labeling.
