(More customer reviews)My review title is a joke between one of my sisters and I because I eat junk food a lot and am well-known for ordering chicken strips at *any* restaurant I go to. Fresh fruits and vegetables are not a part of my diet at all (on more than one occasion I've had Doritos for dinner). I didn't start taking the One-A-Day Women's multivitamin until about 18 months ago. One of my sisters and I were talking about how thin & brittle our nails were, and how thick our other sister's nails were, and we made the connection that our other sister took a multivitamin, while we did not. So I started taking One-A-Day, and within the month, I could see a thicker ridge of nail growing out. It was so weird, and yet so disconcerting to think my thin nails were caused by a vitamin deficiency. Even now, when I go for a bit without the vitamin, thinner nail will grow out until I remember to start taking the One-A-Day again. If my vitamin deficiency caused thin nails, what was it doing to the rest of my body?
One-A-Day Women's is a well-rounded vitamin. My only problem is that I have to take multivitamins on a full stomach otherwise they'll cause an upset stomach, so much that I will toss my cookies. I mean, I have to have a really full stomach... if I'm really hungry and just eat a bagel or a bowl of cereal, and then take this vitamin, I will get nauseous and have to rest my head on my desk and take deep breaths for 15 minutes until the feeling passes - so I try to take my vitamin after having a big plate of waffles or a bacon cheeseburger (see? I told you my eating habits weren't the best). This happens with any multivitamin for me, not just One-A-Day, but it's something to keep in mind when taking a multivitamin for the first time, you probably don't want to take it with an empty stomach.
*Update* I'm still taking the Women's One-A-Day, and a few months ago I suggested to my husband that he should start taking the Men's One-A-Day. He too has the same "thicker nail growing out" bonus from taking the Men's One-A-Day.

(More customer reviews)I don't know why there are so many negatives about this vitamin. I use the weight smart advanced and I love it because it gives me the boost of energy I need to get through the day. It's like drinking a medium sized coffee, but without the mid-afternoon crash. This vitamin keeps me going all day long. I don't even need to nap when I get home from work anymore. Granted yes, this pill will make you vomit if you take it without food, or even before you eat. The key is to take this AFTER you eat a meal. Taking the pill on a full stomach prevents the nausea so many have been complaining about (at least it does for me). I haven't really seen the weight loss benefits from this, but I can say my energy level is much higher and I stay more alert as a result. This is not like the metabo**** pills with ephedra. It doesn't make me jittery or make mw feel like my heart is about to jump out of my chest like those ephedra pills do. overall this is a great vitamin and I am on my 3rd bottle already. I don't even drink coffee anymore since I've started taking these pills and I used to be a dunkin-aholic.

(More customer reviews)Look, i'm not saying this is the perfect cure-all tablet for those going through the annoying and painful process of Menopause; However, I have experienced a huge difference since taking the One-a-Day Women's Menopause formula.
After taking this tablet once a day for 2 months, my hot flashes and night sweats have greatly reduced to almost nothing (I used to suffer terrible heat waves followed by sweat all over my face and legs!!! During the night it was a constant battle of "covers off/covers on" as I would get very hot and sweaty, only to suddenly get cold and shivery -- hard to get any sleep because of these menopause symptoms)
The feeling of calmness has increased, so that means better sleep and feeling less anxious/stressed out, making my husband happier instead of fearing the "Mad Woman of Redwood City".
To be fair, I was on hormone therapy - PrepmPro - for one year (April 2009 - April 2010) because my hot flashes and emotional rollercoaster were out of control and literally making me crazy. Yes, the menopause symptoms stopped; Unfortunately, the side affects that hit me were the monthly migraine headaches, which had gotten so bad that I ended up in ER because the pain would not go away and I thought I was having a stroke. I had suffered migraines before when I was on birth-control back in my 20's - i had stopped those immediately after a 2-week bout of migraines. I did the same with the Prempro -I stopped taking them exactly 1 year after starting those pills, and after I ended up at the hospital. I've been off Prempro for 3.5 months, and during that time I have not had any kind of headache since - so the hormones in the Prempro were the true culprit.
Yes, there are many "natural remedies" out there for women going through the change of life; but what can work for one person, may not work for another. Same thing with prescription drugs.
My experience in taking One-A-Day-Menopause Forumula is that it works for me, and I am happy with the current results.
All I need to find now is the cure for the Menopause "weight gain"!!!
