It's easy to use it in any kind of recipe instead of sugar or other sweeteners: 1 pinch sweetens like 2 tsp of sugar. I use it in smoothies, cakes/muffins, homemade ketchup, custard, even sorbet. Not to mention is has inulin, which helps keeping your digestive tract in good shape. This is one of those things that's always good to keep in stock ;)

Big 100 Food Bar Review

(More customer reviews)I'm a technology guy who sits at a desk all day fixing problems and creating solutions. I get in early and leave whenever I can escape. There's no time for lunch almost ever. Well, I also happen to be an avid weight lifter and I need protein to maintain muscle mass. Bars are the solution. I eat at least a couple of these a day and can continue working or driving or whatever while I'm eating. I've tried a lot of bars and here's why I chose these in the end:
Positives:
- Good protein content level (not too much, not too little)
- Great array of vitamins to keep you healthy (I rarely get sick)
- A small amount of fiber, but not the kind that will leave you in a
meeting with executives squirming around from the gas. Some bars
have no fiber, while others pack it with the kind that kills your
gut
- A bit of sugar to pick you up mid-day if you're low (way better
than sucking down a soda)
- Drinks are messy, these easy and clean
- No sugar alcohols or soy protein (huge gas causers)
- Cheaper and way fewer calories than going out to lunch every day
- Faster and easier than making lunch every day
Negatives:
- Some people would list the sugar/high fructose corn syrup as a
negative, but those people must not have very high metabolisms
because these have less sugar in them than a cup of 100% fruit
juice and I find that I burn it off just typing all day. Otherwise,
I haven't found any negatives.

(More customer reviews)This Walking Cane is an absolute must. It has lots of safety and security features that works just like it promises. There are some substitutes on the market, but this is of fantastic quality that is backed by fantastic customer service.
The front light casts just enough LED light to make it easy to see where you are going. Great for use in dimly lit hallways too.
Great for power failures or getting up at night. Also has red flashing lights that work great as a distress signal and a high decibel alarm that provides security and help. It's very compact when not in use and expands to adjust to your height. It's super-strong but made from a lightweight (strong) aluminum.

I take alot of different supplements and have no problem chugging down pills. THESE HURT! That's how big they are. For a brief moment I thought to myself as it lodged itself in my throat "OMG, I'm an idiot and am going to choke to death". I reared back and swallowed hard and it went down a little bit. I ate an sandwich and can still feel this thing at the base of my throat.

Pampers Swaddlers Dry Max Diapers Review

(More customer reviews)If you read down the list of reviews, you will find two basic camps: "I love this diaper" or "It gave my baby a terrible rash". Now this seems true of just about any diaper, but the reaction against the new "Dry Max" pampers has been particularly vocal. So the question any parent would naturally ask is: will this diaper give my baby a rash? My answer: Well... maybe.
First of a bit about diapers: To over simplify a little, diapers keep your baby dry using two things: "SAPs" or Super-absorbent polymers and Cellulose (made from wood pulp). There are some other materials in the diaper, but the real work is being done by these two ingredients. Cellulose can hold a limited amount of water when under pressure (i.e. a baby sitting or lying in a wet diaper will apply pressure to part of it) so SAPs are brought in to provide a more absorbent and stable moisture trap.
Now a little diaper history: the two main diaper manufactures are Proctor and Gamble (Pampers and Luvs) and Kimberly Clark (Huggies). Kimberly Clark is a paper and wood products company and they brought their considerable expertise to the table when they created the successful "Huggies" line of diapers. Proctor and Gamble countered by leveraging its extensive chemical portfolio and began a long drive to improve their SAPs which allowed them to use less cellulose and make thinner diapers than Huggies. Huggies do use SAPs, but they are less advanced than what P&G has brought to the market.
As a result you have more cellulose between skin and SAP in a Huggies than in a Pampers. If the SAP, or some other chemical related to engineering the SAP into the diaper is the cause of the mysterious rashes, this could be why Papers is getting a lot of flack: With "Dry Max" P&G claims to be using a new a powerful SAP. So it seems plausible that Dry Max Pampers may be more likely to trigger a rash, but nobody knows for sure. One unproven theory is that the powerful SAPs are drawing moisture out of the skin making it crack, which when exposed to urine and bacteria leads to a rash. It's also possible that fragrance is the culprit (there are some vocal advocates of this theory but I don't find the evidence definitive). Proctor and Gamble is sticking by its claims that Dry Max Cruisers don't cause any more rashes than the old Cruisers.
In my personal experience the child with sensitive skin couldn't wear Pampers (only Huggies) and the child without could wear anything (Pampers included). My best advice would be that if your child has sensitive skin they may be happier in Huggies but otherwise you are probably fine with Pampers. I usually found that Huggies were a better fitting diaper but that varied depending on the kid and their age. I think that fit is more kid specific than diaper specific (no two brands fit the same and depending on your baby's shape one is likely to fit better than another - and the "best" brand may change as your child grows).
I think it simply comes down to getting a small pack and trying them out. If your baby seems to react, has more rashes or you get a lot of leaks, just move on to something else.

We didn't even really get to do anything. as soon as she got in it she wanted back out because it hurt so bad. i supported her weight and even then it was horrible. Got about 3 minutes use out of it and 2.5 of them were spent trying to get her out of it, which is kind of a trick in itself. What a wast and horrid product!

GASPARI NUTRITION MYOFUSION Review

(More customer reviews)Protein powder is the easiest and safest way to supplement your diet with essential protein for building and keeping muscle. I swear by it. I bought a 5 lb tub of Myofusion Chocolate-Peanut Butter from [...] (hey, it was on sale and in this economy it pays to shop) to kick the tires and try it out. Here's the skinny:
THE PROS: First, it blends easily and completely - no graininess or clumping. Second, it's consistency is more like ON Casein whey in that it tends to thicken up to a nice "shake"-like consistency which makes it more "satisfying" from a fullness standpoint. Third it has an extra gram of protein (25 per scoop) - 1 more than ON Gold Standard Whey and 2 more than EAS 100% Whey. Fourth, it's priced very competitively against other whey products. Fifth, it's Gaspari, which means it's engineered/formulated for body builders' needs - a good thing if you happen to be one.
THE CONS: First - BCAA's are not part of the formula - at least as far as I could tell from the list of ingredients. I usually add BCAA powder (ON product) anyway to my shakes, but I like to have them in the whey mix in case I've run out of the powder or I'm in a rush and don't have time to add them. This is a minor issue. Second - and here's the biggest - the taste Really Needs Work. There's no detectable peanut butter flavor at all and the "chocolate" had almost a medicine taste. It didn't taste terrible, but it's neither chocolate nor peanut butter. To get around the taste, I added plain non-fat yogurt, real peanut butter (Bell Plantations PB2 powdered product works great, too, and has virtually no fat), and a banana. Gaspari - go back to the kitchen and fix this. Please.
Taste of this particular version aside - I like Myofusion, and I will buy it again - only in a different flavor. ON's Gold Standard Double-Chocolate (do you see a pattern here?) has been my go-to protein powder for years, and I'm back on it now (yes, an Amazon purchase). After Myofusion, however, I must say that the ON Gold Standard Whey's consistency seems surprisingly "thin" compared to the Myofusion. Lift, live and learn, I always say.
Addendum 7/7/2010 - The $43.40 price for this supplement is out of line, given the taste issues. I just ordered a 5 lb tub of the Milk Chocolate version of this Gaspari product from Amazon and paid $35.94 with Amazon Prime expedited shipping. Both products are shipped by DAB Nutrition and fulfilled by Amazon, so the price difference makes no sense. Unless you hate chocolate, it sounds like a no-brainer to me as to which version of this product you'll want to go with. My comments on the Milk Chocolate version will be up shortly after I've had a chance to "kick the tires".
